Now hiring: we are hiring a reinforcement steel fixer in Johnson County, Illinois. You will work on an infrastructure project such as a metro or flyover. Your main tasks: • Set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift • Lap and splice bars to the specified lap length • Lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors • Read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust • Place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing Ideal candidate: • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long spells bending and kneeling • Willing to work outdoors in all weather and to tight pour dates • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level Full-time with occasional weekends.
