Ideal candidate: • Knowledge of common hardware systems such as espagnolette and friction hinges • An eye for finish — no scratches, clean welds, flush beads • Able to work to deadlines in a busy workshop The role involves fit fly screens, sills and trickle vents; glaze the double-glazed units, set the packers and bed the glass square; wrap, label and load finished units for delivery without scratching the profile; fit espagnolette locking gear, friction hinges, handles and keeps to the sash; clean welded corners on a corner-cleaning machine and chisel off the weld flash; rout lock and hardware pockets with the copy router.
