Immediate opening: stainless steel welder (Ohio)

We are recruiting: we are hiring a stainless steel welder in Erie County, Ohio. The job is at a busy sheet-metal workshop. What we are looking for: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day On the job you will handle: • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run Meals and transport allowance provided.
