Tig welder — Fairfax County

Now hiring: we are hiring a tig welder in Fairfax County, Virginia. You will be based at a busy sheet-metal workshop. Day-to-day duties: • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding Ideal candidate: • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. $4,500 per project, negotiable for the right hands.
