Pipe TIG welder — Acadia Parish

Join our team: we are hiring a pipe TIG welder in Acadia Parish, Louisiana. The job is at a pipe-fitting and pressure-vessel shop. You should have: • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces You will clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush; inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut; grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; keep the arc length and travel speed consistent.
