Urgent requirement: core maker (California)

Vacancy available: we are hiring a core maker in San Mateo County, California. You will work in the fettling and dressing shop. The role involves: • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities Requirements: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry Rotating shifts.
