You should have: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Able to pass a weld test on the spot On the job you will handle: • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec 2+ years on the tools preferred.
