Earthmoving plant operator — Essex County

Join our team: we are hiring an earthmoving plant operator in Essex County, Vermont. The job is on an earthmoving and excavation site. The role involves: • Level and grade the road sub-base to the surveyor's pegs and string lines • Backfill and compact soil around pipes and foundations • Carry out daily pre-start checks on engine oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid and track tension • Keep the cab clean and complete the daily machine logbook • Operate the boom, stick and bucket to dig, lift and place material • Grease the pins, bushings and slew ring at the start of each shift What we are looking for: • Understanding of safe digging near underground services • Able to read levels, pegs and basic site drawings • Able to operate excavator, loader and dozer confidently Six days a week, one day off.
