Join our team: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in San Mateo County, California. You will be based on an industrial construction site. Your main tasks: • Select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp What we are looking for: • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection Six days a week, one day off.
