Now hiring: we are hiring a gang bricklayer in Madison County, North Carolina. Requirements: • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets Day to day you will laying bricks to the line, level and plumb; building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation; spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel; pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints; raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish; checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod.
