Immediate opening: sand plant operator (New Mexico)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Chaves County, New Mexico. You will work in the fettling and dressing shop. Ideal candidate: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Day-to-day duties: • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities We offer $3,100 per month plus benefits.
