Steel fixer — Winston County

Now hiring: we are hiring a steel fixer in Winston County, Alabama. Day to day you will check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour; fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings; place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing; bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine; fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover; keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust. Ideal candidate: • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
