What we are looking for: • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols The role involves: • Weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal 5+ years on the tools preferred. $3,700 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
