Pipe TIG welder — Newport County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a pipe TIG welder in Newport County, Rhode Island. You will be based on a structural steel site. Day-to-day duties: • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size Ideal candidate: • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work Six days a week, one day off. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Walk-in interviews this week.
