Immediate opening: we are hiring a pressman in Sullivan County, New Hampshire. You will be based at a textile finishing unit. On a typical shift you will shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; fuse interlinings and fusible tape on the fusing press; set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics; clean and descale the iron soleplate and steam vents; hang or fold pressed garments and pass them to packing. Ideal candidate: • A keen eye for scorch, shine and uneven creases • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. We offer $3,800 per month plus benefits. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
