Vacancy available: we are hiring an ironing operator in Ketchikan Gateway Borough, Alaska. The job is at a garment factory. On the job you will handle: • Operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments • Spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts • Sort bundles by fabric, shade and order number • Clean and descale the iron soleplate and steam vents • Set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics Requirements: • A keen eye for scorch, shine and uneven creases • 1-2 years' experience pressing garments in a factory • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep Performance bonus on top of base pay.
