Now hiring: we are hiring a stainless steel welder in Houston County, Texas. The job is in a stainless steel kitchen-equipment unit. The role involves: • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool What we are looking for: • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection Six days a week, one day off. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Pay around $4,500 per month, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
