What we are looking for: • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Own basic hand tools and PPE The role involves: • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode • Carry out 6G pipe welds where required • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
