Now hiring: we are hiring a vertical transportation technician in Lawrence County, South Dakota. You will measure rope tension and check for broken strands; fault-find control circuits with a multimeter and test instruments; service the traction motor, brake and gearbox; replace worn sheaves, rollers, contactors and relays; rope up the traction machine and reeve the hoisting cables. You should have: • Physically fit to lift heavy components and crawl in tight spaces • Good head for heights for pit and car-top work Pay around $2,800 per month, based on your experience.
