Immediate opening: we are hiring a construction helper in Pope County, Illinois. You will be based on a road and bridge project. Ideal candidate: • Willing to work outdoors in heat, dust and rain • Site safety induction or labour card an advantage Day-to-day duties: • Pour and spread concrete, then compact it with a poker vibrator • Carry bricks, cement bags and sand up to the masons on site • Backfill and ram down soil around the foundations • Cure freshly laid concrete by sprinkling water for several days • Set out levels with line and plumb under the mason's direction • Break out old walls and concrete with a jackhammer breaker Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. Pay around $5,400 per month, based on your experience. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Six days a week, one day off. Apply today to start as soon as possible.
