Vacancy available: cnc production machinist (Illinois)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a cnc production machinist in Putnam County, Illinois. You will be based at a busy machine shop. Requirements: • Comfortable standing for long shifts and lifting up to 20 kg • Willing to work rotating day and night shifts • Confident with micrometers, vernier calipers and bore gauges On a typical shift you will change worn carbide inserts and monitor tool wear; adjust feeds and speeds to control the surface finish; top up coolant and clear swarf from the bed; load and index turning tools in the turret; deburr and chamfer machined parts by hand; watch the machine through the cycle and clear alarms or crashes. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
