Heavy equipment operator (dozer) — Central Bedfordshire

Great opportunity: we are hiring a heavy equipment operator (dozer) in Central Bedfordshire, England. You will work at an open-cast mine. Day-to-day duties: • Strip topsoil and stockpile it for later reuse • Refuel the machine and record running hours • Work to the dig plan and the banksman's signals • Rip hard ground and rock using the rear ripper shank • Spread imported fill in even layers ready for compaction • Grade and level subgrade for roads, pads and platforms Ideal candidate: • Able to read grade stakes, drawings and site levels • Knowledge of daily greasing and pre-start inspections • Safety awareness around banksmen, trucks and other plant Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
