You should have: • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight You will prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run; read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters; set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring).
