Great opportunity: we are hiring a steel fixer in Conecuh County, Alabama. The job is on a commercial tower construction site. Day-to-day duties: • Tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers • Lap and splice bars to the specified lap length • Form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions • Check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour • Fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover • Keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust Requirements: • Willing to work outdoors in all weather and to tight pour dates • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. Full-time, day shift. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. Walk-in interviews this week.
