Immediate opening: we are hiring a garment presser in Wicomico County, Maryland. Day to day you will clean and descale the iron soleplate and steam vents; set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics; press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching; shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts. You should have: • Able to keep pace with line speed and piece targets • A keen eye for scorch, shine and uneven creases • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
