The role involves: • Estimate repair costs and order the right parts • Road-test vehicles to confirm the repair • Replace alternators, starter motors and batteries • Replace clutch plates and gearbox components • Bleed the brake hydraulic lines and check pad wear • Carry out wheel alignment and tyre balancing You should have: • Confident using diagnostic scan tools • Comfortable working in inspection pits and on ramps Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
