Now hiring: we are hiring a stainless steel welder in McLeod County, Minnesota. The job is at a precision engineering workshop. Day-to-day duties: • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode • Weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run What we are looking for: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium At least 2 year(s) in a similar role. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
