Urgent requirement: we are hiring a steel fixer in Fayette County, Illinois. You will work at a high-rise construction project. You should have: • Comfortable working at height and in deep excavations • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites Day to day you will install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat; tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers; cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder; place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing; lap and splice bars to the specified lap length; set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift. 2+ years on the tools preferred.
