Wood machinist — New York County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a wood machinist in New York County, New York. You will work on a residential housebuilding project. The role involves finish surfaces with varnish, wax, lacquer or wood stain; install skirting boards, architraves and dado rails; measure and mark out timber using a tape, square and marking gauge; erect formwork and shuttering for concrete pours; hang internal and external doors, fitting hinges, locks and handles. Ideal candidate: • Accurate to fine tolerances on finish work • NVQ Level 2/3 in Carpentry and Joinery or equivalent • Sound knowledge of timber types, grades and fixings Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough. $5,100 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
