Urgent requirement: we are hiring a foundry operative in Washington County, Oregon. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. Your main tasks: • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch Ideal candidate: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Basic grinding and fettling skills Part-time with flexible hours. $3,900 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
