Vacancy available: we are hiring a bar bender and fixer in Borough of Wigan, England. The role involves bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine; fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings; form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions; fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover; keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust; lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman. Ideal candidate: • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
