Great opportunity: we are hiring a structural MIG welder in Jackson County, Illinois. You will work at a steel fabrication workshop. Ideal candidate: • Steady hand and good eyesight for tight tolerances • Able to pass a 3G/4G plate test Day-to-day duties: • Load ER70S-6 wire spools and check the drive rolls • Check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration • Read fabrication drawings and weld symbols • Tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing • Grind back and re-weld any defective runs • Clear spatter and slag, then wire-brush the finished bead Overtime paid at a premium rate.
