Immediate opening: we are hiring a butcher in Greene County, New York. The job is at a halal meat counter. On the job you will handle: • Take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking • Break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts • Trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts • Mince meat and prepare keema on the grinder • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Keep halal cuts separated and clearly handled Requirements: • Food hygiene / HACCP certificate • Able to identify primal cuts of beef, mutton and poultry • Clean, presentable and friendly at the counter 5+ years on the tools preferred.
