Vacancy available: we are hiring a fusing press operator in East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana. You will work at a textile finishing unit. The role involves: • Remove creases, wrinkles and packing folds with a steam iron • Press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching • Shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board • Operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments • Keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure • Set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics Requirements: • A keen eye for scorch, shine and uneven creases • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings Overtime paid at a premium rate.
