Safety officer — Winnebago County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a safety officer in Winnebago County, Iowa. The job is at an oil and gas facility. On a typical shift you will verify lifting gear, slings, shackles and crane test certificates; carry out toolbox talks with the crew before each shift; audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges; ensure MSDS/SDS sheets are on hand for every chemical on site; record accident statistics and keep the safety logbook up to date. What we are looking for: • Sound knowledge of local OSH and factory act regulations • Strong record-keeping and incident-reporting skills • Confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot 6+ years on the tools preferred.
