Immediate opening: we are hiring an argon welder in Van Buren County, Iowa. The job is in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. Ideal candidate: • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work On the job you will handle: • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
