Lathe programmer-operator — Borough of Oldham

Immediate opening: we are hiring a lathe programmer-operator in Borough of Oldham, England. You will be based in a tool room. Ideal candidate: • Working knowledge of G-code and M-code • Confident with micrometers, vernier calipers and bore gauges • Experience with carbide tooling and insert selection Your main tasks: • Set tool offsets and establish work zero (G54) • Check diameters and lengths against the spec sheet • Read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T tolerances • Top up coolant and clear swarf from the bed • Watch the machine through the cycle and clear alarms or crashes • Deburr and chamfer machined parts by hand Six days a week, one day off.
