Bar bender and fixer — Somerset County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a bar bender and fixer in Somerset County, Maryland. You will be based at a high-rise construction project. Day to day you will tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers; keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust; read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules; lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors; form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions; install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat. Ideal candidate: • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements 4+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time, day shift.
