Fabricator-welder wanted in Midlothian

Vacancy available: we are hiring a fabricator-welder in Midlothian, Scotland. You will be based in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. Day-to-day duties: • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish What we are looking for: • Able to pass a weld test on the spot • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard Six days a week, one day off. Meals and transport allowance provided. Walk-in interviews this week.
