Meat trimmer — City of Portsmouth

Immediate opening: we are hiring a meat trimmer in City of Portsmouth, Virginia. You will work in a meat processing plant. On a typical shift you will sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone; trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts; vacuum-pack and wrap customer orders; weigh, price and label cuts for the display case; debone shoulders, legs and loins with a boning knife. Requirements: • Able to identify primal cuts of beef, mutton and poultry • Food hygiene / HACCP certificate • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required 3+ years on the tools preferred. We offer $31 per hour plus benefits. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
