Core maker — Sitka City and Borough

Vacancy available: we are hiring a core maker in Sitka City and Borough, Alaska. On a typical shift you will assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings. What we are looking for: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding 4+ years on the tools preferred. $5,200 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
