Great opportunity: we are hiring a precision welder in Carbon County, Wyoming. You will be based at a busy sheet-metal workshop. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight Day-to-day duties: • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints • Read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
