Core maker • Sully County, South Dakota

Vacancy available: we are hiring a core maker in Sully County, South Dakota. You will work at a busy iron foundry. Day to day you will skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes. You should have: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection Six days a week, one day off. $250 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
