Immediate opening: garment machinist (Illinois)

Vacancy available: we are hiring a garment machinist in Warren County, Illinois. You will be based at a knitwear stitching unit. Day to day you will topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish; attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet; set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes; keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line. Requirements: • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown 3+ years on the tools preferred.
