Immediate opening: we are hiring a stainless steel welder in Whiteside County, Illinois. The job is in a food and dairy equipment factory. On the job you will handle: • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job You should have: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height 1+ years on the tools preferred. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
