Port container crane operator — Essex County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a port container crane operator in Essex County, Virginia. You will be based at a precast concrete yard. Day-to-day duties: • Grease the slew ring and inspect the wire rope for broken strands • Keep a safe distance from overhead power lines • Rig and sling loads using slings, shackles and spreader beams • Set up the outriggers and level the crane on firm ground • Hoist, slew and lower loads smoothly and under control Ideal candidate: • Valid crane operator licence or certificate (CPCS, NPORS or local equivalent) • Sound knowledge of rigging and slinging • A good head for heights for tower crane work Six days a week, one day off.
