Immediate opening: we are hiring a brick mason in Donley County, Texas. You will be based on a commercial construction site. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets Day-to-day duties: • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints • Raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish On-the-job training and a clear path to grow.
