Vacancy available: metal caster (Pennsylvania)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a metal caster in Centre County, Pennsylvania. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Day-to-day duties: • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch What we are looking for: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Basic grinding and fettling skills 5+ years on the tools preferred. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
