Great opportunity: pipe tig welder (Tennessee)

We are recruiting: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in Macon County, Tennessee. You will be based at a busy sheet-metal workshop. On a typical shift you will prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run; run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints; inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions; weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring). What we are looking for: • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances Full-time with occasional weekends.
