You should have: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day On a typical shift you will grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper; carry out 6G pipe welds where required; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job.
